Tom Bell
B.Mus PGDip (Grad RNCM)

Tom Bell is active as a performer, educator, and professional organ consultant. He studied at the Royal Northern College of Music, and was taught by Kevin Bowyer, Jacques van Oortmerssen and Ann Elise Smoot.

As a performer, Tom has collaborated with poets, beatboxers, dancers and visual artists. His present preoccupations reflect a broad range of interests, concerning respectively an organ and fiddle duo with folk musician Sarah Hatch, a study of English nineteenth century performance practice, and a film project related to the work of Olivier Messiaen. As a church musician, prior to moving away from London, Tom most recently served as Organist and Choirmaster of St Michael’s Chester Square. Tom regularly teaches on courses for young organists, and gives masterclasses internationally. He is a Director of the Royal College of Organists, Artistic Director of the London Organ Day, a Patron of the Society of Women Organists and a Diocesan Organs Adviser to both the Manchester and Blackburn dioceses.

Tom has a keen interest in helping clients to get the best out of their resources, seeking to meet musical needs whilst also respecting the integrity of historic instruments where they exist. Education, and the encouragement of new interest in the pipe organ, is also an important focus.
