St Peter Farnborough

St Peter's Old Parish church, Farnborough, Hampshire

The Bevington organ of around 1900, (originally in the west-gallery and later moved to the transept), was a sorry sight, uneasily recessed off-centre in the transept, with its original casework covered with cheap plywood sheets fastened by staple-gun and the decoration of the front-pipes removed with steel wool!

With the guidance of the adviser it was established that the organ was essentially sound and that the original mechanisms, casework and pipes could be restored.

The adviser supervised the project from the tendering process and selection of organbuilder to the renovation (including modest tonal change), re-decoration and re-siting of the organ.
