St Mary's church, Titchmarsh

An unaltered example of the work of T.C. Lewis dating from 1870. This superb two-manual, mechanical-action organ – with only a handful of stops on each manual – has the tonal magnificence of a cathedral organ. It was restored under the auspices of a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund, and an AIOA adviser procured this grant on the instruction of the parish for not only the faithful restoration of the organ, but an exciting HLF education program for the local rural community and village school run in collaboration with an animateur and film-maker.
