Keble College

Keble College Chapel, Oxford

A new, substantial three-manual, mechanical-action organ by a leading British builder for a large college chapel in a major English university.

A wide range of work by English and foreign organ builders was examined in preparation for the procurement process. Care was taken during the design, construction and voicing of the organ to ensure that the chapel’s acoustic was not overloaded and overwhelmed with organ tone, the design criteria being that the organ should broadly follow the tonal style of the original Hill instrument built in the 19th century.
